Leonard is the grandson of August and the eldest son of Clarence. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 4th, 1944 and married Janis Lee Person at St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines, Iowa on June 26th, 1965. Janis was born in Des Moines on October 10th, 1943 and died on January 15th, 2009. Their only child, Ann Marie was born at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines on August 6th, 1974.
Leonard founded Waldorf Computer Systems which was located in West Des Moines Iowa. WCS provided computer software known as BANCADO to community banks throughout the United States. In 2015, Leonard retired when users formed a Co-op named Community Bankers Alliance and purchased the BANCADO software. He now resides in Laguna Vista Texas.
